Mikel Arteta became Arsenal manager in the middle of the 2019/2020 season which ended with The Gunners finishing 8th in the Premier League however they ended the season with some silverware by defeating Chelsea in the finals of the FA Cup in a 2-1 victory. Since then, Arteta had put Arsenal through a long rebuild period where many top names and experienced players left the club while The Gunners rebuild with their academy graduates such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Miles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, along with much younger long-term signings like Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, etc. This combined with some more experienced signings in multiple areas in their squad and Mikel Arteta has built a team that many claim to be one of the best in Europe. This season Arteta’s team has the chance to prove those claims correct as they are in pole position to do the unthinkable win the quadruple.

EFL Cup

The first stop in Arsenal’s quest for the Quadruple is the English League Cup where The Gunners have amazingly made it all the way to the finals of the competition by defeating clubs such as Port Vale, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Chelsea in a 2nd leg Semi-Final. Mikel Arteta’s side are now in the finals of the competition and on the 22nd March 2026 are set to face, a team that has been a thorn in the side of Arsenal’s trophy aspirations, Manchester City at Wembley Stadium. With Manchester City not having the best of seasons under manager Pep Guardiola with their laundry list of injuries as well as string of bad performances, the odds are so far looking to be in Arsenal’s favour especially with Mikel Arteta’s record of never losing a game at Wembley as a manager. Pep Guardiola however has a better overall record against Mikel Arteta with Man City having 8 wins over Arsenal in their last 15 meetings with Arsenal only have 4 wins. Pep Guardiola’s team also has the better goal difference with Man City having scored against 27 goals against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal while Arteta’s side have only managed 15 goals. There are many different factors playing a role in this huge cup final and outcome of this game may have a major effect on the rest of the season depending on who walks away from Wembley with the trophy.

FA Cup

It is still very early days in this stage of the Football Association Cup however Arsenal have made their statement of intent with their performances against English Championship side Portsmouth with a 4-1 victory and followed up that dominate performance by thrashing English League One side Wigan Athletic 4-0. On 7th March 2026, Arsenal has their 3rd FA Cup match set and they will face another English League One Side in Mansfield Town. If the Gunners can win their game against Mansfield Town, they will qualify for the Quarter Finals of the competitions which further cements their push to winning the Quadruple.

Premier League

As of Matchweek 26 Arsenal are currently league leaders with 57 points which leaves them 4 points clear of 2nd place team Manchester City, 7 points clear of 3rd place team Aston Villa and 12 points clear of 4th place team Manchester United. This is not unfamiliar territory for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as they have been in position where they were league leaders with a solid points lead but lost out on the Premier League title either due to a growing list of injuries or fatigue catching up to The Gunners in the most important period of the season. With 12 games left in the Premier League, it is honestly Arsenal’s title to lose with Man City breathing down their necks as well as the unlikely dark horse team Aston Villa could surprise the world and somehow overtake both teams should City and Arsenal slip up. The previously mentioned EFL Cup final between Arsenal and City might play a huge factor in the title race as the winner of that game may have a huge influence on the title race in terms of one team disrupting the momentum of the other. The EFL Cup final is not the final time these 2 sides will face each other as Man City and Arsenal will meet again in the Premier League on the 18th April 2026 and depending how the season progresses leading up to that fixture, that game may become a huge title deciding fixture.

UEFA Champions League

Much like in the Premier League, Arsenal ended the league phase of the UEFA Champions League top of the table with 24 points out of 24 points. Arsenal are the only team in the entire competition that is still unbeaten as well as the only team to win all 8 of their league phase games. With Arsenal finishing top the UEFA Champions League, they gain automatic qualification to the Round of 16 stage of the competition so now all they have to do is wait for the results for the Knockout Phase Play-offs before the next Champions League draw takes place where The Gunners find out which team they will potentially face in the Round of 16. The 2 games Arsenal fans should pay attention to would be the game between Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund and Serie A side Atalanta as well as the game between Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and Super League Greece side Olympiacos. The winners of those games will be the potential opponents for The Gunners in the Round of 16 stage. After reaching the Semi-Final stage last season and becoming league leaders this campaign, Arsenal are seen as clear favourites to make the finals this season and possibly even win it. Everything looks to be in Arsenal’s favour to complete the Quadruple and the ball, as they say, is in their court.
